Manti Te’o was recently quoted, saying the fake girlfriend hoax will not be on his mind during the NFL combine and drafting process.
“What I did on the field is what I did on the field,” Te’o said. “I don’t think what I did with this whole situation, I don’t understand how it takes away from what I did on the field.”
Manti, it doesn’t take away from what you did on the field. Everyone remembers how you played in the National Championship game, since it looked like the Alabama players you were “tackling” were about as real as Lennay Kekua.
Don’t worry about it, though. I’m sure your poor performance against a highly talented team won’t affect your draft stock. After all, Alabama is far better than any team in the NFL. Right?
But, really. If I could somehow give one piece of advice to Te’o, I would tell him to keep his mouth shut. No one wants to hear an obvious lie, but they do want to see him prove he is worthy of an early draft pick.
I think this whole thing might haunt Te’o for longer than anyone might think.

That was a little rough, I was rooting for him to win, but no ones likes liars. How does it affect what you do on the field? You don’t live on the field, you must have character to have a good lifestyle and get along with your teammates. Instead of mourning over your “dead girlfriend”, why don’t you search for some character.
